Signed autograph letter addressed to Ambroise VOLLARD enriched with an original drawing S.l.n.d., 1 page and a half in-8 in ink. (Folds and slight tears). Autograph letter signed addressed to his gallery owner and merchant Ambroise Vollard. Avant-gardist in modern art, Vollard befriends the greatest painters of the time and reveals in his gallery Cézanne, Gauguin, Van Gogh, Matisse, Picasso... Gauguin refers here to a parcel he has just received from Vollard: "The perfect canvas and glue / Perfect Japanese paper / But the colours !!! we can see that you are not a painter [...What do you want me to do with 6 tubes of white and green earth that I rarely use, it's a big defense I know but what do you want now that the machine is running I'm going to eat color [...] Take the decoration color at Lefranc it's three times cheaper especially for you merchants who have the discount and it's much better. Quickly I'm closing". The letter is illustrated with a drawing showing a tube of paint.
