RICHELIEU Armand-Jean du Plessis, cardinal de (1585-1642)
Letter dictated to his secretary, Rueil 9 April 1635, to Claude BOUTHILLIER, Superintendent of Finances; 1 page in-fol., address. "I am very happy to see the passage of Mr de ROHAN, and the return of the Marquis de LA FORCE. I will not go to Paris. You see what Mr. de BREZÉ is asking you for pistols; if we don't put in order everything will be in order. I beg you to instruct Father JOSEPH that I will not go to Paris. It will be good that Mr. de The Force is still putting a Regiment in Schlestat to refresh itself and to assure this place which is of consequence. I would like you and the good Father Joseph to order Count DEGMONT to dare his wife from Charleville. I did not judge that it was necessary to send him the King's letter because it is the only way for him to send to Brussels what he does not want".
