DOISNEAU Robert (1912-1994)
Autograph letter signed and illustrated with 9 original photographs, addressed to JACQUES and JANINE PREVERT. February 24, 1976, 3 pages in-4. 9 original photographs pasted on. 5.5 x 9.5 cm. Doisneau regrets that Prévert in his Cotentin region, because of the distance, cannot come and walk with him in the passages of Paris, and he sends him some pictures, and we see a photograph of Robert Capia, actor and antique dealer, at the window above his shop. Doisneau comments on the photographs of the Passage des Panoramas: the ladies of the dance course, the bookseller in the Passage Saint-Marc... The engraver Stern, a young girl in front of the Hôtel Chopin in the Passage Jouffroy, the Passage du Grand-Cerf: "it's scrap and dust, a beautiful cathedral of filth". Cat. Jacques Prévert, Paris la belle (p. 175).
