Autograph manuscript of 24 poems, Album no. 2. Miserere; oblong sewn notebook (14 x 17.8 cm) of 16 leaves (18 pages), in black cloth jacket. Precious notebook of poems, related to the Miserere project, given to the Czech writer and publisher Josef FLORIAN (1873-1941). This notebook, abundantly crossed out and corrected, presents five drawings or pen sketches, covered with wash or ink, of faces and characters. It includes two short dedication poems, on small grey papers pasted on the first sheet (on which a primitive writing has been cancelled), and 22 poems numbered from 1 to 20 (and two bis), most of them presented in 2 or 3 columns, with often two poems on the same page. Dedication (5 lines): "Josef Florian / looks to the East / the beautiful caravan / that the Star guides / to the humble stable". Another dedication or stanza (7 lines), marked 2: "Sweet pilgrim / smiling / carrying his Cross"... Miserere (4 stanzas): "Little dwarf / give me your hand / your arms are too small / to blow your nose / I'll help you! The poem is framed by two overprinted drawings; opposite the page (verso of the title), a large full-length figure in pen is covered with white gouache. 2. The Illuminated (with print) (eight): "Deaf I am I hear no more / O! Joy! / than the beating of my heart"... * 3. Celebrity (9 lines, next to a first version crossed out): "President Hugo / you were said to be funny / old, smart"... Pen drawings of two heads, covered with wash. * 4. Blasphemy (3 stanzas with refrain): "Divine Lamb / Come from my hand / eat the bread / delectable / at the Holy table"... * 5. The artist (5 stanzas): "Death took him / when he came out / of the bed of nettles / where he slept / all his life"... * 6. Petite banlieue (15 lines): "Rue de la Concorde / you feel the rope / of the hanged man"... 7. 1793 (4 stanzas): "Alone in the big cart / the little aristocrat has passed"... * 8 (6 sizains): "We are mad / hou ! hou ! / the light spirit / or dark and ardent / like the fire running / under the ashes"... * 9 (2 stanzas of 11 lines): "Little employee / surly / fussy / tired"... * 10. Justice (2 stanzas of 11 lines): "The condemned man / went away / indifferent / and resigned"... 11 (15 lines): "Go old mother / don't despair / go slowly / and long / to feed / these good children / who will abandon you"... 12 (2 stanzas of 14 verses): "It is late, mother is there / and father is not coming home / where will all these children go?" .... * 12 [bis]. In memory of the mother Delphine (2 eight lines): "If you are nice / my dear child / we will go / to see / the streetlights light up"... 13 (2 stanzas of 11 lines): "The snow / spreads like a shroud"... * 14. Thinking of Verlaine (dozen): "Prince of the drought / bohemian say beautiful mothers / poet lost explain the dictionaries / exiled in the cafes"... 14 bis (5 eightains): "Dodo ! Dodo ! / Paradise is a country / that was taken from us / but the children / quite innocent / are going there right now"... * 15. La mère folle (1871) (3 stanzas): "I have three pretty children / They are too worried / to know right now what they will have / to put under their teeth"... * 16 (17 lines): "I am the blind man / alert and cheerful / like a robber sparrow"... * 17. Souvenir des académies de peinture (2 stanzas of 13 lines): "Allons Madelon / viens poser / mon chiffon / il faut manger"... * 18 (15 lines): "If I fall to the ground / the fault is Voltaire's / the nose in the stream / it's Rousseau's fault / You are great men / and I'm a sad drunkard"... 19 (33 lines): "The moon rises / on the shore / the son and the mother / go away / far from the world / the father is dead"... * 20.
