autograph manuscript, Mademoiselle Julie, [1952]; 81 pages in-4 and oblong in-8. Boris Vian's translation of Strinberg's play. Mademoiselle Julie was performed in Boris Vian's translation on September 17, 1952 at the Théâtre Babylone, by François Chaumette, Éléonore Hirt and Andrée Tainsy. The complete manuscript is written in violet ink on perforated sheets of squared paper binder: 47 in-4 sheets, the last ones of which are also written head to tail on the back (p. 40-55), the rest (p. 55-81) on the back of in-8 sheets with the letterhead of the Paris City Council. It presents numerous erasures and corrections with the wire of the pen, then other corrections with the blue or red pen. The title of the manuscript is nicely calligraphed and decorated in blue ink. The booklet of Paris Théâtre of November 1952 with the publication of this translation of Mademoiselle Julie, and of the play L'Équarrissage pour tous by Boris Vian is enclosed.
