COCTEAU Jean TAPUSCRIT with ADDITIONS and Autograph CORRECTIONS, Les Enfants terribles, 1929;[1]-154 pages in-4, bound bordeaux half marble, gold number at the bottom of the first plate (two interlaced Cs topped with a crown), back with 2 nerves underlined with cold fillets, long gold title, floral paper plates (Sandgorski & Sutcliff, London). Completely corrected typewritten version of the novel Les Enfants terribles. It was during a detoxification cure in Saint-Cloud, at the beginning of 1929, that Cocteau wrote his most famous work, Les Enfants terribles. He claimed to have written this novel in seventeen days. It contains more than 300 words or passages that have been crossed out, corrected or added in black ink. Cocteau fills in the blanks left in the typing or corrects bad readings; but he also makes stylistic corrections, all in a sense of simplification and purity of the text. On page 40, Cocteau made an interesting 5-line addition, which introduced the theme of sleepwalking: "Paul sometimes had small sleepwalking attacks. These crises, very short, fascinated Elizabeth and did not frighten her. They alone could force the maniac out o
