FRAIGNEAU ANDRÉ (1905-1991) - Lot 116
FRAIGNEAU ANDRÉ (1905-1991) L.A.S. "Fraigneau",[1951], to Jean COCTEAU; 1 page in-4 in pencil. "Dear John Paul had made me hope that you would be home between 6 and 7. And as "a prompt departure takes you away from us"..... I wish you, I wish us good work and good rest. I spent the winter rereading the "written friends" - Stendhal, Balzac, Proust, Cocteau. The latter holds out for centuries, with, above all, what? The angel Heurtebise, the end of the Potomak, Souvenir Portraits. Everything will last, but this is marble from which we make the columns".... We attach an l.a.s. with a drawing by the decorator Victor GRANDPIERRE,[1922 ?], to Jean Cocteau about his piece Antigone: "I want to tell you again the pleasure I had at Antigone and ask you a thousand things about the show. The bakers of the palace, the guards leading Antigone will remain present for a long time in my memory"...; the letter is adorned with a woman's head wearing a egret (feather, wash and watercolour).
