ARTAUD ANTONIN (1896-1948)
Signed autograph letter addressed to André ROLLAND DE RENEVILLE. S.l., November 8, 1932, 2 pages in-4 in ink on paper. A rather feverish letter, in which Artaud asks André Rolland de Reneville to put his delay in writing "[...] on account of a violent personal dismay, which comes [...] from the fact that all my theatre and other affairs are dragging on lamentably, from the fact that I have just, on the side of personality, intelligence, inner density, pneumatic richness of the self, to make a horrible fall, I plunged [...]". He then goes on to reproach, stigmatizing in his correspondent "[...] a certain lack of real depth, the same that I will reproach Roger Gilbert-Lecomte, and no doubt Monny de Boully and temporarily René Daumal [...] Your inordinate weakness and your puerility in the eyes of women which could make you go so far as to think that it was possible to make a woman dance Novalis !!!". He insists on his "[...] immense personal dismay". REFERENCES Complete works, t. II, pp. 203-204.
