Precious complete and unique manuscript, carefully calligraphed by André Breton for printing, of his very first book. There are disparate copies of each of these poems, on loose sheets, but this manuscript is the only one that is complete and homogeneous. It was very carefully developed by André Breton, who reproduced by hand the graphic aspect he wanted his poems to have.
The 15 poems that make up the collection are all here in their final printed version with two small variants of dedications: the dedication of the poem Age to Léon-Paul Fargue has been removed from the edition and the dedication to Tristan Tzara does not appear in the manuscript. 14 of the 15 poems had appeared in earlier reviews, only the prose poem Une maison peu solide is unpublished.
