FINI Leonor (1908-1996)
A collection of 337 letters, cards and notes, most of them autographed and signed, addressed to Leonor Fini. 1932-1991, a set of more than 1000 pages in ink on 500 sheets, various formats. (Stains, wetness, tears and lacks sometimes reaching the text, one letter torn into 4 pieces). Exceptional meeting of correspondence and documents addressed to Leonor Fini by his artistic and emotional entourage. The history of the Surrealists, art and European history is drawn there in filigree. In addition to the long, amorous and epistolary relationship between Fini and Pieyre de Mandiargues, the internment of Max Ernst at the Camp des Milles and Cocteau's efforts to get him out of there are evoked. Many of these letters are adorned with original sketches and drawings, notably by Jean Genet or Meret Oppenheim.
