It was in 1908, with Les Robes de Paul Poiret racontées par Paul Iribe that the great couturier revolutionized the genre: he brought into fashion the bright colours applied with stencil and the models drawn in solids. This refined album, the first of its kind, influenced an entire era and gave birth to a style. Paul Poiret, who appreciated Iribe's drawings, relates in the newspaper Le Témoin, his meeting with the designer in 1908: "I entrusted Iribe with my intention to produce a very pretty edition, intended for the elite of society: an album of his drawings representing my dresses would be addressed as a tribute to all the great ladies of the world". At the same time press cartoonist, book illustrator, advertising cartoonist and decorator, Paul Iribe collaborated with about fifty periodicals, founded several newspapers, and created advertising catalogues for Ford, Nicolas, Mauboussin, Poiret. Beautiful copy bound by Jean de Gonet.
