PICABIA Francis (1879-1953)
Autograph letter signed "F." with pen drawing addressed to "Ma petite". November 16, 1918, 1 page in-4 in ink on paper. "My little one, I'm still in Begnins, grey weather and fog, you can see it from here. I work a lot but what a terrible spleen; my wife is very well with the doctor and fills his head". He asks for news about life in Paris: "Have you seen any of the modern tribe? I can't wait to go back home, a flood of desirable memories is evoking in me. Well, you know, I may arrive in the capital without warning. Do you work for "Modern Gallery" and the other one ? I'll be frolicking with you sooner or later with du Bois, stronger than ever. You're the winch and I'm the anchor. So it's impossible to live in Switzerland [...]". He kisses her and loves her. At the bottom of the page, pen and ink drawing: a soldier standing guard, bayonet with a rifle, two Red Cross nurses, and a soldier in a bust, wearing a kepi.
