Full striated brown calf, smooth spine, gilt title, inside frame, beige suede lining and folders, slipcase (Georges Leroux, 1980). Cover with autograph title in black ink "Douze petits écrits (manuscrit original)" covering a primitive title in green ink "Le Galet ou la notion de la pierre" on an oval piece of paper cut and pasted on a beige cardboard folder entirely pencilled. 1 f. n. ch. on which was mounted a proof of Francis Ponge's portrait by Mania Mavro which served as a frontispiece to the book. On the back, autograph dedication: "to Bernard Groethuysen, a relationship that commits me to better things. Bro. P.». 23 ff. in graphite pencil in black ink on as many sheets of paper (vellum, squared, lined). 2nd cover plate. Mounted in succession: cover of the magazine Le Disque vert in which three small writings were published in the original, 2 ff. with the text, back cover. Very precious complete original manuscript of Francis Ponge's first poetic collection. Douze petits écrits is the first book published by Francis Ponge, in 1926 by Gallimard Editions, in the collection "Une œuvre, un portrait", with a frontispiece by Mania Mavro. This publication owes much to Jean Paulhan, to whom the book is dedicated. The latter had said to Ponge: "I would like to write what you write, that's it".
