PROUST Marcel (1871-1922)
Sick PROUST ticket, with a prescription from Dr BIZE. S.d. October 1922], 1 page in-12 oblong in ink on paper. One month before his death: "Don't stay, I have so much fever that perhaps this will enable me to avoid new fits. What is this beer I drank 2 hours ago. I would like a knitting around a ball (I had already asked you). I made some very nice verses about you". Reproduced in Philipp Kolb, Correspondance de Marcel Proust, t. XXI, n° 353. Attached is a prescription from Doctor Bize (Paris, 27 February 1918, 1 page in-8 in ink on paper). Marcel Proust often called Dr. Bize, and, under the pretext of needing treatment, questioned him at length in order to enrich his work with medical sources. Rare document.
