SCHMIED FRANÇOIS-LOUIS (1873-1941) - WILDE OSCAR (1854-1900)
Two tales. Paris, F.-L. Schmied, 1926. In-4, 2 volumes, one of which is a suite, blue morocco, different geometrical decoration for each volume, drawn by white, black, blue or beige morocco scrolls, some more important blue pieces, two large lacquers in the lining of the text volume, blue fault guards, uncropped, half morocco folders, interlocking (F.L. Schmied - Lacquer J. Dunand). This edition of Two Tales of Oscar Wilde was prepared by F.-L. Schmied on the friendly initiative of Messrs. The illustration also includes 2 small woods and 4 vertical woods for the tables, and a small colour strip to finish printing. Edition with the English text, printed in 20 copies only. It has the same illustration as the French edition printed in 162 copies. One of the 5 copies reserved for employees, this one n° II. The binding is decorated with a geometrical decoration designed by him and enriched on the back covers for the text volume with two important eggshell-bottom lacquers by Jean Dunand based on his compositions, one of them bearing his signature. One of these lacquers represents a nightingale and the other the rose, subjects of the second Count of Wilde. The second volume includes the suites in black and colour on Japan of all the compositions. Twelve woods are missing in the colour suite, and eight in the black suite. These suites are those of t
