The first manuscript, entitled Pour le liber amicorum Romain Rolland, will be published in 1926, on the occasion of the author's 60th birthday. It brings together such famous names as Zweig, Gorki, Duhamel, Freud, Gandhi and Einstein. In this text, Alain begins by explaining: "These pages are rather from a reader than a friend. "He recounts his meeting with Rolland, examines some of his works and is particularly interested in his pacifist political attitude. The second manuscript, Sur le Jean-Christophe by Romain Rolland, was published in the magazine Europe on January 15, 1926. Jean-Christophe is one of Rolland's most famous novels. It is this novel which will be worth to him to be laureate of the price the happy Life (future price Femina), in 1905. It will also be one of the motivations for his nomination for the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1915. The leaflet sent by Zweig, Gorki and Duhamel for the participation in the album amicorum was bound in fine binding. Case, spine and bit rubbed. A few stains and dumps.
