In the summer of 1937, René Char invites the Belgian surrealist poet Louis Scutenaire and his wife, Irène Hamoir, to spend a few days at his home in Céreste. From this meeting, a dazzling love affair between René Char and Irène Hamoir was born, which lasted several months. The distance that separates the two lovers exacerbates Char's feelings: "Irène, Irène, Irène I love you. I love you, I take you inside me. I take you inside me. I take you inside me. I love you. Who's talking to you? To say that you believe in me, that you will no longer decry, that the others are finished forever.
