COLETTE, Sidonie-Gabrielle
Meeting of autograph manuscripts and signed letters. Paris, December 1936-May 1941 and n. d. 10 p. in-8 and in-4 (various sizes), 8 envelopes. Reunion of 4 signed autograph letters, 1 signed autograph postcard and 2 autograph manuscripts, to Pierre and Huguette Berès, all in very careful handwriting. Colette evokes her manuscripts: "If the notes seem superfluous to you, remove them, but the amateur likes references. " And she also inquires about the sale of her texts: "We would have liked to know, today, the result, or lack of result of the sale as far as I am concerned. " In an amusing letter, she thanks the couple for the chocolates and adds that there is "no better treatment for the flu than good chocolates". Colette met bookseller Pierre Berès in 1935 and they quickly became friends. To alleviate Colette's financial worries, Berès decided to publish unpublished works by Colette, illustrated by Dignimont, Daragnès, Moreau and Dunoyer de Segonzac: a luxury edition reserved for a small circle of amateurs. Traces of folds.
