Autograph manuscript initialled, accompanied by a signed typing. S. l., [1945]. 48 p. on 31 ff. folio (32 x 24.9 cm), brown morocco, on the plates gilt decoration of frames "à la Duseuil", with corner finials, gilt reproduction of Sacha Guitry's signature in the centre of the plates, spine ribbed and decorated with gilt fillets and finials, gilt head (Saintyves). Initialled autograph manuscript entitled "Ma défense" (My defence), relating to the charges of collaboration brought against him at the Liberation. The manuscript, initialled "S. G." is dedicated to "À mon pays que j'adore". It has been extensively erased and corrected and is in the form of a play in which Guitry imagines the trial that could have been brought against him at the Liberation: "The President: "You are accused of being a notorious collaborator." " This manuscript is written directly on the first 31 sheets. The following documents have been pasted on the following pages. A typing entitled "My defence" . 38 p. laminated. On the last typed page is the autograph signature of Sacha Guitry. In this text, Guitry responds to the charges brought against him: "This brief, this provision, this plea, this defense, in a word, of myself - for someone had to devote himself to take it - I scrambled it in Drancy, in pencil, hiding myself to do so, and learning it by heart in anticipation of a possible "search" which would have forced me to destroy the pages. " - The announcement of publication and the eight issues of Paris-Matin in which Guitry's text was published (from January 13 to 21, 1945). 9 press clippings pasted together. - A typed letter relating to the betrayal of a friend. - A photocopy of the decision of the bailiff Marcel Crocq to close the case without further action. - A photocopy of the notice of court decision: case closed without any further action.
