HÉLION, Jean
Meeting of 4 signed autograph letters and 1 signed typewritten letter. Paris, Rockbridge Baths; 1937-1954 and l. n. d. 12 p. on 5 ff. and 2 double ff. in-4 and in-8 (various dimensions). Reunion of 4 signed autograph letters and one typewritten letter signed to Raymond Queneau. In a letter of June 28, 1937, Hélion evokes in particular the idea of creating a literary review: "I am in favor of a very compact, modest presentation, where all the violence is concentrated in the quality of the text and the illustrations. "He would like several authors to participate, including Pelorson, Leiris, Miller, Pierre Gueguen, Le Corbusier, and of course Raymond Queneau. This magazine was founded in December 1937 under the title Volontés and was directed by Raymond Queneau and Georges Pelorson. In the other letters, Hélion evokes his activity as a painter: "It was a great pleasure for me to see you at my exhibition at Mayo's house. I am now working on more ambitious canvases, and I hope to invite you to a more considerable vernissage in a year's time. "(June 12, 1954.) Enclosed is an autographed postcard addressed to Mrs. Raymond Queneau. Dreux, February 5, 1940. Hélion is "freshly arrived from America after a moving crossing". He asks for Raymond's address. Traces of folds, small stains.
