PISSARRO Camille (1830-1903)
Minute of autograph letter [S.l., circa 1896], 1 page and a half in-16 in pencil. Weather notes on the back. Minute of autograph letter to a young painter in response to his request to teach him painting: "[...] I do not believe it is profitable for a young painter to follow exclusively the direction of a master". He advises him rather to multiply his masters than to follow only the teachings he could learn from Pissarro's work: "it seems to me that you would do wisely to follow a few others so as not to fall into a personal manner that would be rather harmful to you".
