APOLLINAIRE Guillaume (1880-1918)
Signed autograph poem addressed to André BILLY S.l., April 26, 1915. 1 page in-12 on printed letterhead (two tricolor flags and the words: "Still, 1914-1915"), with address on the back: "Brigadier Kostrowitzky 38th 452 Battery Sector 59 Artillery". Ticket addressed to André Billy in the form of a poem. Gunnery brigadier mired in the trenches of the Champagne front, Guillaume Apollinaire conjured up, with a black irony, the absurdity of the fighting and the threat of shells, a piece of which was to pierce his helmet, in March 1916. "I tell you, André Billy, that this war is King Shells, much more tragic than Ubu but hardly Billy, believe me, less burlesque, o my old man, believe me, it's very comical Les Emmerdés Here is the name of the real hairy ones, what a colic! Are they emptying those poor, shell-shattering skies and stuff? We miss the feminine a bit. Flesh, flesh but pink flesh! For a pillow See the solution of popefiguière One would give His life with more than a thousand books Figuière [...]". André Billy (1882-1971), his confidant, had participated in the creation of magazines that they animated together. Novelist and critic, we owe him two essays: Apollinaire vivant (1923) and Avec Apollinaire (1966). Exceptional document.
