CELINE LOUIS-FERDINAND (1894-1961)
Set of eight autograph letters to his lawyer Thomas MIKKELSEN. Kobenhavns (Denmark), August-September 1949. 38 pages ½ in-folio in ink on paper. Correspondence addressed to his lawyer Thomas Mikkelsen, in order to prepare his defence for his trial. "[...] You probably don't have time to read the World! Here's some ritual blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah... outside in the Assembly etc.... Amnesty etc... Oh how I am afraid when good wills are shaken! Then, the worst disasters are to be feared! ..." "[...] I'd rather commit suicide here or starve to death than stay dead for 10 minutes in Fresnes ! I'm not guilty of anything at all. Guilty are those who issued an arrest warrant against me. That's all. I've suffered enough to pay for the false justice of French farce. I don't have enough months left to live to still serve as a clown to the lawyers and judges of Paris! No. Termination of the case or nothing at all! No compromises, no tricks, no tricks, etc.".
