A collection of 15 autograph letters or notes signed by various correspondents [Paris - Passy, circa 1841-1855?]. 18 pages out of 13 and 3 double ff. in-12 (various sizes), with 8 leaves of suscription, postmarks, half raspberry calf, smooth spine, author and title gilded on the back (Montecot). (Scratches, brown leaves, stains, crease marks). Set of 15 signed autograph letters and notes. - Signed autograph letter, addressed to Louis Desessart, co-written by Gérard de Nerval (s.l.n.d., 2 p. sur 1 f.), Théophile Gautier (s.l.n.d., 1 p. sur 1 f.) and by a third unidentified scribe (Paris, February 11, 1844, 1 p. on the back of the previous sheet). Nerval wrote to Desessart on his return from his trip to the Orient, "How sad that Paris is when one returns from countries lit by the sun. ...] I saw Egypt for six months; then I stayed in Syria for three months - in Constantinople for four months the rest on the way. It's quite beautiful. I only have fun when I travel and I live double as much as I can". - Signed autograph receipt. S.l.n.d., 1 p. sur 1 f. in-12. Acknowledgement of debt for a deposit of 10 francs received from M. Rouy (manager and cashier of La Presse). - Autograph letter signed to his father, about an a.aire of which he was informed by the notary Alphonse Leroux, in which Nerval's father is subrogated guardian.
