ALEXANDRE II (1818-1881) Tsar de Russie
L.A., S.P. [St. Petersburg] 17/29 and 18/30 January 1868, to Catherine DOLGOROUKI, "KATIA"; 10 pages in-8 to her crowned number; in French with a few words in Russian in Latin alphabet. Very beautiful and long crazy love letter to Katia, evoking their bingerles (erotic frolics). Wednesday at 9.1/2 am. Their evening last night left the same impression on them: "We love our bingerles and they make us even more crazy about each other every time. Judging by my own face, yours must not be much more presentable than mine, but we love to carry the traces of the incredible enjoyment we give each other" ... Four o'clock in the afternoon. "You have to be crazy like us to walk around in weather like today, just to be able to talk for a moment and shake hands, and I feel that we were equally happy about it and were about to forget everything and throw ourselves into our arms"... He comments on this dilemma in Russian and then recounts visits: "Calm down, it happened without hugs, which I don't care about at all, as I said earlier. Oh! how happy it made me feel, what you said about it yourself: that you knew that other women no longer existed for me. ...] The feeling of having become your property of body and soul, makes me happy, and I am proud and jealous for you, for I look upon myself only as your property, which you alone can dispose of as you wish"... He deplores the fact that they are not always together. "Oh, if we had the happiness of going to bed together, I don't think we would have stayed together, and we would not have been able to stop ourselves from starting again with the bingerles that we love"... Thursday at 11:00 in the morning. "Everything you're telling me about Morag Delgi's visit is what I felt. It's only you I would have liked to see day and night in my room, and we would have spent our time just as you write to me. ...] And we could certainly have applied to each other all the things you say about inseparable birds"... He promises to tell
