Correspondence largely devoted to the efforts of their father, former King of Westphalia, to obtain permission for his family to return to France, and on the death of their elder brother. May 27, 1842. In response to a request from Arago, he doubts he will find anything relating to the Emperor and science. "Dad has in his papers only two periods of the empire which are quite interesting : the first is the Silesian campaign in 1807, all military [...] 2° the period of 1815", and their uncle Joseph has only his correspondence from Naples and Madrid with his brother, and "nothing that relates to the Emperor as a scientist or academician"...
