RAVEL Maurice (1875-1937)
L.A.S. " Maurice Ravel ", to Annette Bibal, Mrs Edmond GAUDIN; 2 pages and a half small in-4. Her brother " Édouard has just been quite seriously ill. What is even more serious is his general state, due to overwork. The doctor orders him to rest for at least 15 days and to change his air. I thought of sending him to Monte Carlo. But Edward would prefer St. Jean de Luz. So we've come to ask you: 1° for information on the current temperature. 2° if it would be possible for you to receive it at home [...] on the condition that you yourself accept the price of the pension. As time is running out (the doctor would already like him to be gone), I would ask you to telegraph us as soon as you receive this "... We enclose 7 photographs (originals or countertypes), including one with Jeanne Gaudin, one of her bust by Léon LEYRITZ dedicated on the back by the sculptor to Marie Gaudin, and one of BAUDICHON's medallion with the artist's dedication to Mr. and Mrs. Édouard Ravel. The complete set, n° 425.
