RAVEL Maurice (1875-1937)
L.A.S. "Maurice Ravel", [Mont Pèlerin sous Vevey] April 1, 1934, to his friend Marie GAUDIN in Saint-Jean-de-Luz; 1 page in-8, envelope on letterhead from the Mon Repos clinic. Moving letter, the penultimate one written by Ravel, after his aphasia attack. The characters are traced with difficulty, one by one, like printed letters. "Dear Marie, Ça va beaucoup mieux, quant au physique. As for morale, there is still a lot to do. Finally, the doctors are satisfied. I had a good idea about the storm you went through: the next day here, it was like the wind of all the devils. The Easter holidays were radiant. But today it seems to be getting worse. A thousand muchus [kisses in Basque] to all. Your very old Maurice Ravel" The complete edition, no. 2479.
