ROSSINI Gioacchino (1792-1868)
L.A.S. "Rossini" following an L.A. from his wife, née Olympe PÉLISSIER (1799-1878), [around 1860, to Mrs. Antonio VIO-BONATO]; 3 pages and a quarter in-8 including an autograph; Rossini's letter in Italian.

Motivated by "the deepest gratitude for the unceasing care of Doctor Vio Bonnato for my dear husband Rossini would like to realize the desire of our dear Doctor to obtain the decoration from the hands of the King of Portugal. I know, dear and adorable Madam, the sacrifice I have come to ask you for, since only recently our dear MONGINI has asked and obtained this cross for an artist [...] Although still suffering my husband gives no cause for concern, his recovery is certain, with the heat and perspiration; he will be as well as he has ever been "... Vio-Bonato is his guardian angel... - Rossini takes up the pen to remember him and his dear husband, and express the wish that Sr.M. grants her the grace to give to the doctor who gave her care, a gift that will not be unworthy of him ...
