STRAWINSKY Igor (1882-1971). L.A.S. "Igor Strawinsky" with MUSIC, Clarens November 30, 1911, to his friend Michel Dimitri CALVOCORESSI; 2 pages in-4 of a bifolium with ink stamp at his address Clarens (Switzerland) House "Les Tilleuls". Very beautiful letter on his ballets, accompanied by a large page of music with the Lullaby of The Firebird . "I am pleased to inform you that we will be in St Peter [sbourg] in the same month, because DIAGHILEW will play The Firebird and Petrouska in our capital and I will surely arrive to attend. Now as I am the most serious competitor for the room at my mother's house I will see to it that you find another one at my parents' house"; he will do his utmost to make it happen. Occupying the entire third page, Strawinsky copied the first eight bars of the Andante of the "Lullaby (Firebird)" for orchestra, on 13 staves drawn with his line puller (the "Stravigor"), including : Ob. I°, Fag. I°, Arpa I, Arpa II°, V. I° (on 2 lines), V. II°, V.le (violas, on 2 lines), Celli (on 2 lines), C-B. (double basses, on 2 lines). Below, he inscribed the dedication: "For my dear friend M.D. Calvocoressi in friendship Igor Strawinsky Clarens 30/XI 1911
