HABER Fritz (1868-1934) chimiste allemand (Prix Nobel de chi - Lot 710
HABER Fritz (1868-1934) chimiste allemand (Prix Nobel de chimie 1918). 4 L.A.S., 1908-1919, to the VAN AKEN family; 10 pages in-4 or in-8, headings including 2 from the Kaiser Wilhelm-Institut in BerlinDahlem, one envelope: in German. Amusing correspondence to a couple of friends in Wiesbaden. Karlsruhe 12.XII.1908. He sends his wishes and those of his aunt Amalia for Mrs. Van Aken's birthday. He evokes his own birthday: he is now 40 years old, with white hair and is waiting for the intelligence that the Swabians develop at this age ("Ich bin nun 40 Jahre, habe ein weissers Haar und bin in Erwartung des Verstandes den die Schwaben in diesem Alter entwickeln") . - Pontresina [1912]. Having had a minimum of 16 hours of sleep, he could take up the feather that had become too heavy for his mason's hands in Dahlem, to send his thoughts to Wiesbaden for the family of the old and new generation, and cry out "Hurrah, Hurrah, Hurrah! "... - BerlinDahlem [12.XII.1913]. Amusing Christmas letter, beginning with a 20 line poem: "An Tante Anna und ihren Mann / Muss ich heute nötig schreiben"... - Berlin-Dahlem 20.XI.1919, thanking "Frau Lotte" for her charming memory... A poem "An die Familie van Aken" (2 p. in-8), and a small poem on the back of a money order coupon (by Mrs. Haber?), plus a telegram are enclosed.
