Approximately 90 letters or documents, 1821-1828. File on the management of the estate of Navarre, given by Napoleon to Josephine after their divorce. The estate was made a duchy, with a reversionary clause in favour of Josephine's son, Eugène de Beauharnais, Duke of Leuchtenberg, and his descendants. Provisional letters patent making the estate a duchy on 11 March 1810 (copy). Correspondence from Baron Darnay, Intendant General of the Ducal House of Leuchtenberg in Paris; Caillot and La Porte, stewards of the estate; Charles-Michel-Élie Fouché, receiver of the duchy's revenues; Bernard Delaitre, Prefect of the Eure; the Viscountess of Vergnette (supplications to Eugène de Beauharnais, one of which with an apostille a.s. from the Prince), etc. Memoranda, receipts, accounts and summary statements of expenditure on the estate (personnel, contributions, carpentry, glazing, plumbing, roofing, rebuilding a bridge, cutting wood, etc.; extraordinary expenditure for gratuities, travel, consultations, court costs) and receipts (income from Malmaison, rents)...
