6 autograph letters signed. Autograph letter signed to Armand DUTACQ, publisher and press owner, September 4, 1854, 1 page in-8 in ink. ... "Will you believe that in spite of your order given in front of me, one day that I was with you at the newspaper, I was still refused my articles?" ... Autograph letter signed to the poet Henri CANTEL, disciple of Baudelaire, [Honfl eur, about 25 February 1859]. 1 page in-8 in ink. "I do not have Babou's address. Tell him that Malassis can't believe it!" is my translation of forms of astonishment as undefined as exclamation marks. Something like oh! ah! - Pleasure or displeasure? I don't know." Honfl eur is in Calvados, not Seine-Inférieure. Autograph letter signed to Jean MOREL, director of the Revue Française, [Paris] April 1, 1859. 1 ½ page in-8 in ink, address on verso. "Be so good as to send at once an issue of your Revue (the last one, - if, however, you have published the verses) to Maxime Du Camp, rue du Rocher (no number, he is well enough known in his street). During my absence (at the end of which I will bring you two sheets, either Eureka or the night poems) you will ask for a card for me to visit the Salon at convenient times. You could, I believe, give the beginning of the work to your printer without fear." Autograph letter signed to Paul MEURICE, 21 Dec [ember 18]59. 1 page in-8 in ink, "Did you receive Delôtre's package for M. Hugo.?" Autograph letter signed to poet Auguste LACAUSSADE. May 7, 1861, 2 pages in-8 in ink and folio bearing Lacaussade's name and Baudelaire's monogram (small tear to the leaf). Letter regarding the publisher Poulet-Malassis. ... "As for Dandysme, although it is still very confused, I hope to give it to you before the 25th" ... "If he gives you this letter [Poulet-Malassis] yourself you will have the opportunity to make the acquaintance of a perfectly kind man, and, what is even rarer, of a bookseller who knows how to read" ... Attached is a letter signed LEFRANC concerning the translations of Edgar Poe by Baudelaire. 2 pages in-8. Unpublished letter. Autograph letter signed to Narcisse ANCELLE, [Brussels,] 30 May 1865. 1 page in-8 in ink on blue page (slight holes). "I believe we will see each other very soon. I am much awaited, in Paris and in Honfleur. Two or three days after your reply, I shall leave. Be so kind as to put 150 francs in the post for me, and simply write on your letter: 28, rue de la Montagne." "If I find you, we shall have to talk about many things. - Do you think I can find in Neuilly a packer accustomed to making boxes for fragile objects? In that case, I would take care to bring back to Neuilly two large paintings that I want to send to Honfl eur, which I would join to the rest." The letters are published in the Pléiade except the one to Auguste Lacaussale.
