BAUDELAIRE Charles (1821-1867)
Autograph letter signed to Maxime DU CAMP, S.l., 6 August 1857, 1 p. on 1 double f. in-8, slight traces of folds. Since he does not use much for himself, Baudelaire solicits Du Camp's intervention with Laurent-Pichat, both founders of the Revue de Paris, so that his old friend, the republican Ernest Lebloys, can publish news and articles there, since Baudelaire is not a "pure man" in the eyes of the republican Laurent-Pichat. "(...) Mr. Lebloys has all the qualities that make you so lovable, and I believe that he will be your friend; at least, I have judged it so, I who wish to be always yours." Letter edited in CPl, I, 1973 pp. 419-420.
