The project was first formalized by Bellmer in German. The text, which he later translated, appeared under the title Notes au sujet de la jointure à boule, as a foreword to his collaboration with Paul
Éluard on Les Jeux de la Poupée, published in 1949 by Éditions Premières.
(2) Notes au sujet de la jointure à boule:
Autograph manuscript signed, 22 pages in-8 (210 x 145mm), in blue ink.
Sewn leaves. Pink peeling paper. Twelve handwritten corrections in black ink.
This text is Hans Bellmer's own translation of his text Das
Kugelgelenk. Bellmer entitled it Notes on the subject of the ball joint and placed it in the foreword to the Doll Games.
The translation has been revised and corrected in black ink by Georges Hugnet.
The corrections correspond to modifications, additions or proposals made to Bellmer's translation. All these corrections appear in the edition printed in 1949.
This autograph set is, to date, the only existing one concerning the text of Hans Bellmer's major work.
