HONEGGER Arthur (1892 - 1955) - Lot 90
HONEGGER Arthur (1892 - 1955) L.A.S. "AHonegger", July 28, 1943, to a friend; 1 1/2 pages in-4. "You are right, it is no longer possible to remain so long without giving any sign of life while you, yourself, are doing so many eff orts and miracles on our behalf, so I am replacing my article this week with a letter. I have a new table in my studio overloaded with piles of letters to be answered and when I look at it I get dizzy. I have had all winter and still now a continuous and tiring work. Films, music for the stage of Le Soulier de Satin which is going to be performed at the Comédie Française and other little things, without counting the incessant requests for appointments, the steps to take for some and others which end up devouring a considerable amount of your time. [...]. My trip to Switzerland has replaced the vacations for me and this has earned me some extra work under which I crumble like the overloaded donkey that I am. He talks about his daughter "Tartouillot (Pascale) who has become a very important young person", who will come to Switzerland with a Red Cross convoy. "Vaura and I will go for a few days to the Munch's in Gros-Rouvres to have a little respite from the food issue that takes so much time, but I will come back to Paris quite regularly because it is not far away"...
