The Ballad of Reading Gaol. Ballade de la Geôle de Reading (Paris, Société du Mercure de France, 1898); in-12; red half-maroquin with corners, spine titled and dated gold, gilt head, cover and spine preserved (slight rubbing to binding, spine slightly unstained, upper jaw a little split) Bilingual edition in English and French in the translation by Henry D. Davray's translation, revised by Oscar Wilde himself. A copy of the regular edition, complete with the 4 pp. of the publisher's catalog on salmon paper at the end of the volume. Autograph letter signed on the flyleaf, in blue ink, to the novelist Marcel BATILLIAT (1871-1941) : " Marcel Batilliat : Hommage de l'auteur Oscar Wilde Paris -98 ". (Very slight rubbing to the binding, spine slightly unstuck, upper jaw slightly split).
