Reunion of the first three poetic collections of Victor Hugo, the first one enriched with a sending to Alphonse Rabbe. Odes et Poésies diverses (Paris, Pelicier, 1822). First edition printed at 500 copies, green cover printed in black with a different fleuron on each cover. Autograph letter signed in black ink on the title page: "Gage de haute estime Offert à mon ami Alph. Rabbe. Victor Hugo". [Alphonse RABBE (1784-1829) is, with Xavier Forneret and Pétrus Borel, one of these "small romantics", whose meteoric work was rediscovered in the 20th century ; he was greeted by André Breton in the Manifesto of Surrealism. His Album d'un pessimiste, a desperate philosophy tinged with black humor, is a model of its kind. He played an important role in the life of Victor Hugo. Friend of the general Hugo, he took for the young author "of a paternal affection". His political convictions went against the monarchist opinions displayed by Hugo at the time of the Odes] Nouvelles Odes (Paris, Ladvocat, 1824). First edition; decorated with a frontispiece, Le Sylphe, engraved by Godefroy after Devéria. Ochre cover printed in black with fleuron on the upper cover. Odes et Ballades. Tome troisième (Paris, Ladvocat, 1826). First edition, with the frontispiece Les deux îles, engraved by Mauduit after Devéria.
