Ruy Blas (Paris, Hachette, "Collection Hetzel", 1858). 2 vols. in-12 bound in one, period full red chagrin, covers framed with a cold fillet and a gilt fillet; inscription in gilt letters on the upper cover: Conserva toire de musique & déclamation. 2nd prize of tragedy awarded to Melle Marie Suzanne Roselia ROUSSEIL, 1860; spine with 4 nerves decorated with cold filets, boxes framed with cold filets and gilt, counterplates and endpapers of white moiré paper, gilt edges. Autograph address in black ink on the first blank page: "This is not a second prize, but a first, and I give it to Mademoiselle Rousseil. Victor Hugo, 16 9bre 1870 Paris". Touching copy of the Theatre of V. Hugo that the young actress Rosélia ROUSSEIL (1840-1916) had received for a tragedy prize and that the poet dedicated to her on her return from exile, when she was thirty years old.
