Bust of Charles de Gaulle, Algiers 1943. Proof in bronze patinated with lost wax. Signed with the monogram, justified artist's proof 2/4. Stamp of the founder J. Cappelli Cire perdue. Marked on the terrace: " Alger 43 ". Height: 47 cm This bust was realized in Algiers in 1943, at the instigation of Gaston Palewski and Georges Gorse of the General's cabinet. Edgar PILLET, holder of a scholarship to stay at the Villa Abd el Tiff as a laureate of the École supérieure des Beaux-arts de Paris, was in Algiers since 1939.
